ScopeThis document describes current computer technology in terms of the impact it has already had on liturgy and the impact it will likely have in years to come. Much of the focus is on printing and duplicating technologies, but issues such as data-bases and communications are also discussed. This paper assumes a rudimentary familiarity with computers, and how they work. However, Appendix B contains a glossary of many terms used in this report. On the other hand, some issues with which even computer-literate readers may not be familiar --- such as why Hebrew is so hard to word-process and print --- are discussed in the main text. Technology changes rapidly, and so by the time you read this, some information may have changed. Computer technology is developing so rapidly that six-month-old information is almost certainly out-dated in some respects. This document is current as of Mon Jun 5 09:45:32 EDT 1995 .
